It’s no secret that I’m getting older. It’s also no secret that getting older isn’t my thing. I don’t like it. I don’t like birthdays. I don’t like the fact that I have to stretch now before and after exercise. I don’t like that I’m older than most of my friends here in Raleigh.
Here’s what I do like. I like the day my wife and I were standing in the kitchen of our little townhouse and she proposed moving. Not just moving but traveling. Traveling the country! You probably can’t appreciate how shocking this was. We had been married for a year and a half and things were really good. We both had steady jobs. We made a comfortable living. We had great friends. Our families came to visit often.
Chrysa’s proposal…becoming a traveling med tech. I didn’t even know that was a thing. A whole new world of possibilities just opened. She could make a living, a good living, roaming the country. I was sold.
I have always wanted to travel. I always wanted to see the country. Explore new things. See the fantastic diversity that our country has to offer. Eat good food and drink good beer. Meet amazing new people. Make new friends.
I can picture myself older than I am now telling stories of our life on the road. That’s what life really is all about. Having enough experience that you can say you really lived. Telling the story of that life.
My wife and I are acting on the conversation in the kitchen. We are going to travel. We are going to meet all the different types of people we can. We are going to eat different food and drink different beer (maybe wine if we are feeling classy). We are going to tell our stories on this site. Someday when we finally settle down we are going to tell our stories again, and again, and again. The truly interesting and fun stories never get old.
Chrysa and Jesse invite you along for the ride. Buckle up!
